YouTube Sued for Copyright Infringement
Million of files are uploaded to YouTube. It is a grand experiment with files all across the spectrum from purely user-generated videos to mixes incorporating copyrighted music or video to copyrighted clips, such as scenes from TV programs. Like any hosting web site, there are strict use and privacy policies. Files can be reported as inappropriate due to content or copyright, and are removed on an ongoing basis.

But that's not good enough for Robert Tur, a journalist and helicopter pilot in Los Angeles who shot the 1992 beating of trucker Reginald Denny. His video has appeared on YouTube and he has sued for copyright infringement. YouTube claims DMCA safe harbor protection.

I don't think Tur has any chance of winning. But such a suit was going to happen at some time.
