DRM
by Jordan Grodecki on December 28, 2007

Slowly but surely the music industry is switching to DRM free download services, and Warner have become the 3rd of the big four music labels (EMI, Vivendi, Warner, Sony BMG) to offer them. Previously there was only iTunes, and until recently it only had DRM'd tunes available, but now Amazon are in the bussiness and are making waves by signing on the big labels to cheap, DRMless downloads, which will now include all of Warners artists.
They still plan to keep DRM on their subscription and video services, which is somewhat understandable, however.

The only technology that can work on open platforms is one that benefits everyone.
