UK ISPs forced to crackdown?

A new UK government press release has been doing the rounds of late, telling people about how the UK wishes to become the worlds "creative hub" and to do this, ISPs are going to have to start cracking down on UK file sharers.

If ISPs do not comply, new laws are going to be brought in to give copyright owners more ground to sue the illegal downloaders...yet this places another of the UKs big businesses, in problems.

The ISP is in a catch 22 situation, do they start cracking down now, and lose customer loyalty, or do they let it ride till 2009 when the government starts lawmaking and lose customers then? Impossible.
