Music Group v. Lindor. a consumer copyright infringement lawsuit. RIAA has long insisted on damages of $750 per infringed music file, as supported in the Copyright Act. Lindor argues the actual damage is less than $1. So the RIAA claim is grossly inflated and thus unconstitutional. Lindor had filed to add this unconstitutionality of damages as a defense. RIAA sought to deny the motion. The judge ruled that it was a valid defense and granted Lindor's motion.
