See that image above? Yes, it looks like another one of those "RIAA are evil dudez that are sueing me for illegally downloading things! How can this be possible?!" but as time and time again they prove, it isn't just propaganda, it's the truth.
This time, it's about lowering songwriter royalties; yes, you heard that right, the organization that complains about how piracy harms artists wants to themselves, take a way a fair chunk of their profits. They have been trying to get the royalties for each digital song sold down to just 5.5cents a song, down from the current 9 cents a song, which is already a total ripoff.
So what can we conclude? the RIAA really, really doesn't care about artists. Fact.
