Sony BMG Ponies Up to Settle CD Claims

Sony BMG is paying the price for distributing damaging DRM software on their CDs. In response to state investigations and class action lawsuits Sony BMG is proposing to offer a choice for 11 million affected people
> $7.50 in cash and one free digital album from a list of 200, or
> Three free albums from the list

    That could be a good bargain. At least Sony BMG have the courtesy to make up for their mistakes. Do they really paid the 11 million people for the damage? That could be a lot of loss for them. But then again, protectting the company’s name is much more at stake here right? So Sony really has to pay for the consequences.
