Slipknot blame labels.
The frontman for masked rock outfit Slipknot has spoken out about how he agrees that it is labels that cause piracy because "most of the bands they sign are sh**".
Rather vulgar, but he seems to have an opinion common with a lot of rock fans these days; modern music is getting worse, and many people are pirating it because they don't think it's worth the cash.
He went on to talk about the supposed trend in declining album sales, blaming that on artists who don't make good enough albums, rather than the track-by-track focus of iTunes.
It’s about time that musicians start looking inward as to why their albums aren’t selling, but rather being pirated. Produce better music, and people will come to your concerts. The days of creating fortunes from record sales alone are long gone.
