RIAA uses US government to pressure Russia over Allofmp3.com
Russia is now being threatened to close Allofmp3.com. According to the New York Times article, "So great is the official level of concern about AllofMP3 that American trade negotiators darkly warned that the Web site could jeopardize Russia's long-sought entry into the World Trade Organization." I previously wrote about Allofmp3 in "AllOfMP3 a P2P killer?".

The articles continues with a quote from Neil Turkewitz, executive VP of RIAA, "It is totally unprecedented to have a piratelinks site operating so openly for so long."

What the article glossed over is that RIAA is so powerful that its concerns are now the concerns of the United States and increasingly the concerns of the rest of the world.
