Radical Islam to be taken out in the same way as Child Porn

Filed in archive Government by Jordan Grodecki on January 22, 2008

The UK government is proposing plans to try and filter out the promotion of Radical Islam on the net in the same way it combats child pornography.

"If we are ready and willing to take action to stop the grooming of the vulnerable young on social networking sites, then I believe we should also take action against those who groom vulnerable people for the purposes of violent extremismlinks." said Jacqui Smith, UK home secretery.

In all honesty I think this can be nothing but a good thing; anything that tries to prevent Islamic extremists from targetting people around the world, and recruiting them, should be done. Hopefully the big players in the internet biz will agree...
