P2Pers win in Sweden

In Hunt for private file sharers is over, a Swedish appeals court refused to hear a case against a man fined for sharing a movie.

The good news for Hollywood – a substantial fine equal to 80 days salary was levied. The bad news – it means law enforcement can't catch file sharers, at least not when there are no businesses involved and it's just one movie.

The prosecutor, HÃ¥kan Roswall, said "I interpret this as a clear decision that individual file sharers, if they don't earn money from file sharing, won't get anything more than a fine. That means we can't trace IP addresses, which means that we can't trace private file sharers."

Yes many people in Hollywood will be happy for it. 80 days salary is a lot for a middle class person.
