P2P Developer Wurld Media Sold for $10 Million
The New York-based ROO Group will purchase Wurld Media for $10 million. The acquisition will enable ROO to expand its video platform to P2P distribution to reduced transmission costs for its corporate customers.

Wurld Media developed Peer Impact, a private and secured P2P file sharing network, and had announced licenses from 20th Century Fox, WB, Universal Music Group, Sony BMG, Warner Music Group, EMI, Fox, Atari, and Activision.

ROO is among the top 10 online video networks in the world. The company provides turnkey video distribution to web sites, content developers, and advertisers. ROO offers 60 million videos to 180 web sites, including Verizon, CitySearch, iWon, Excite and Music.com
