Over one billion served
The Internet has reached a huge milestone. According to Worldwide Online Access: 2004-2010 one billion people are now online, 845 million being regular users. That's a lot of digital mail, music, and video.

The US still has the largest Internet population with 175 million users. China is next at 111 million and will pass the US in 5-10 years.

195 million worldwide households had broadband, including 108 million in the US. 40% of US households still are on dialup, which is expected to drop to 15% by 2010.
