Government
by Jordan Grodecki on October 29, 2007

Lord Triesman, the parliamentary Under Secretary for Innovation, Universities and Skills, has today stated in a BBC News interview that the UK Government are now "politely" asking internet service providers to look at what their users are doing.
Unfortunatly if ISPs don't comply with the advice, they will have to make it some sort of law, which begs the question, why don't they just do that in the first place? Oh wait, I forgot, this is politicians we are talking about!
However, he did go on to say that they would not be after just the casual music sharer, but those who actively sold pirated material to others, which is fair enough really. Another claim was that musicians will "die off" if people don't buy their CDs, disregarding the fact that it is the industry and record labels that claim the majority of the profit from sales.
Good luck, government.
