Much as the industry wants to deny it, music is becoming a commodity as technology transforms entertainment from a resource of scarcity to abundance. Here's a few examples of leading edge marketing (some of these links may be temporary and not work):
- citibank is giving away iPods when you open a bank account or 3 months of Napster with a credit card application.
- There's a variety of limited download offers, like these from Musicmatch with Rayovac and Citibank.
- And don't forget Free IPods!
It's just a matter of time before those iPods come loaded with full MP3 libraries.
