9Sky, an online chinese music retailer, raised $10 million from a Taiwanese investment fund. The investment follows an earlier round with Linktone. 9Sky has an inventory of 700,000 songs. It sells both music downloads and subscriptions and provide music recommendations and lyrics. Downloads are priced from 1-5 Rmb ($0.13 to $0.65 USD) and monthly subscriptions are Rmb 20 ($2.59). Other aspects of the service include recommendations and lyrics.

San Diego-based RoyaltyShare landed a $5 million Series B funding round, led by Trident Capital. RoyaltyShare tracks and reports digital media and counts major customers like iTunes, Napster, Yahoo Music Unlimited, and eMusic
