Killer Apps
eWeek covers that the top 25 Killer Apps of All Time. The lists started with Electric Pencil in 1976 and closes with Firefox in 2004. Browsers take top billing with 3 entries - Netscape Navigator, MS Internet Explorer (I'd argue that), and Firefox.

Microsoft wins with 7 apps. So these killerslinks are partly based on market sales, not necessarily innovation. Apple only gets 2 entries.

The only digital entertainment killer app, and deservedly so, is Apples iTunes. In a glaring omission there is no P2P software on the list.
