Interview: Hacker for the MPAA
Filed in archive RIAA, MPAA by Jordan Grodecki on October 22, 2007

First of all, I must say hello to all readers of this blog, I'm Jordan, and I'll be your new editor, hopefully bringing you the news from the P2P world quickly and accurately. Now, down to businesses.
Wired are reporting on the interview they have had with Robert Anderson
, a young hacker who claimed he was hired by the MPAA to rat out the torrent searching giant, TorrentSpy, last year. The MPAA apparently promised him fame and fortune, but all he got was $15,000, and now, universal hatred in the p2p community. He sold confidential information which lead to the eventual blocking of US visitors from the torrent indexer, and seems quite impressed with his "hacking", which consisted of just guessing a weak password. I suggest you read the full article to fully grasp what has occured, it's interesting, to say the leastPermalink: Interview: Hacker for the MPAA
