Industry sues ISP

An Irish ISP has today found itself under attack from the music industry, who are calling for the company to filter and block all illegal music downloads, effectively censoring the internet.
Apparently, despite massive profits still, "..the record industry was experiencing a 'dramatic and accelerating' decline in income and that Eircom was 'well aware' its facilities were being used to violate the property rights of record companies 'on a grand scale" and as such, the internet needs to be censored, because people shouldn't have their freedom of choice!
On the flipside, non privacy tinhat man point of view, though, perhaps this needs to happen... as much as we hate the record industry, we wouldn't have music without it... what do you all think? Something should be done indeed, but censoring the internet is not the answer, in my opinion.
