IFPI Sues 8,000 World Music Fans

IFPI is spreading its message of love to several new countries, including Brazil, Mexico, and Poland. IFPI has sued individuals in 17 countries - Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, iceland
, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore and Switzerland.IFPI has brought suits against a total of 13,000 people now. It claims 2,300 people has paid up with an average settlement of 2,420 EUR or 3,055 USD. That's almost a 50% settlement rate of previous suits. The suits have generated $7 million US. There still is no word on what, if any, portion of the proceeds are distributed to artists.
