Google Smackdown

Google has announced their Video Upload Program. They get it. Yahoo once got it, but hasn't for a few years. Microsoft never got it. Nor did AOL. Excite got it, sort of, but that's Ancient history
. It is in a different galaxy for Hollywood.
What is 'it'?
- It is the real convergence of technology, entertainment, and consumers.
- It is the transformative power of technology to re-invent markets.
- It is the vision to stay out of the way of smart engineers and let them bring new products to market.
And Google's got it.
Now maybe this is just a convenient way to upload large files for blogs and personal web pages. Yeah, right. ... Add robust searching, dirt cheap server farms, ad-supported web pages, ad-supported files, and an ecommerce store to sell files, and Google owns the personal and corporate digital music and video publishing field. Sweet.
