Generator Research released "Ad-supported Music Services: Making a Business Out of free music links

". The report looks at SpiralFrog and Qtrax business models, which include free and legal music files that include commercials. The report is priced at 155 poinds or about 291 US Dollars.

The report looks at whether such services are a fad or are going to last. Regrettably the product page gives no clues about its conclusions. The report includes interviews with executives, user experience reviews, and how ad-supported services fit in in the overall marketplace.
