DRM
by Jordan Grodecki on November 22, 2007

MacNN are reporting that many UK high-street shops claim that DRM is ruining the development of digital distribution, while also harming sales. Many customers are put off by the DRM that is placed onto digital downloads, which prevents people doing as they wish with the files. Apparently this totals to 80% of online music buyers, who would pick an unprotected alternative if it is available, if there is not, many end up resorting to piracy.
So there we are, DRM IS a double edged sword, it helps protect the companies from unlicensed distribution, but also turns buyers to piracy. Where do you go from here?
