Czech Police take down a topsite
Filed in archive Abuse by Jordan Grodecki on April 24, 2008
Topsites are mystical things the majority of people involved in peer2peer have no knowledge about, but they are very important. They are were all the pirated material released by "scene groups" (like PARADOX iTWINS, the like) originate; not on torrents as a lot of people seem to think. Topsites however, have to be hosted somewhere, and are not real peer 2 peer, and as such, are more vunerable to police attack, and thats exactly what has just happened to a 4tb archive in the Czech Republic.

The computer had a massive array of storage space, and a 1gBit connection to the net, so it was probably used by thousands of people involved with the scene. Interesting stuff, indeed.
