The People's Republic of China has taken the somewhat extraordinary step of completely banning US films from cinemas in the country. Well, actually, they haven't officially taken this step, and the Chinease ministry for film and all that malarky is saying that there is no such thing, yet studios are not being given release slots for the country at all.

Rumours are saying this ban is coming from the highest orders within the governmental system over there, due to the US's various disagreements on piracy, and also on the more touchy subject of selling weapons to Taiwan.

It all seems a little unfair to me, but if any more news comes out, I'll keep you posted.
