Child Porn doesn’t pay

A 23 year old stundent in New Zealand was sentenced to a year in prison for possession and distribution of child pornography found via P2P. The clueless defendant's lame excuse – he thought is was immoral but not illegal.

The article shows how he was caught:

"Mr Vacaras was spotted on KaZaA by an alert Department of Internal Affairs Censorship Inspector as a potential trader in child pornography.

"The inspector detected a New Zealander, making picture files available worldwide by leaving them in a shared folder in his KaZaA folders. They had titles, which would indicate that they were depicting children in sexual acts with adults," the DIA said.

The DIA executed a search warrant and confiscated Mr Vacaras' computer and peripherals, finding "26 objectionable pictures," the DIA said.

Mr Vacaras admitted he had accessed KaZaA for about six months searching for child sex pictures — but without, apparently, a great deal of success."
