Carphone Warehouse CEO Charles Dunstone has said he'll fight any UK government efforts to force ISPs to cut off suspected filesharers.
"What is being proposed is wrong in principle and it won't work in practice," Dunstone wrote on his blog. "The unintended consequence of Mandelson's plan will be to encourage more Wi-Fi and PC hijacking and expose more innocent people to being penalised wrongfully."
"Mr. Dunstone said TalkTalk, the UK's biggest broadband supplier with 4.25m customers, would 'resist any attempts to make it impose technical measures on its customers,'" writes the Telegraph's Rupert Neate. "He said TalkTalk, which is part of Carphone Warehouse, would take the Government to court if necessary."
