Canadian artists call for legal P2P

The Songwriters Association of Canada has come up with a pretty cool new idea to do with filesharinglinks (no duh, what else is going to be posted on this blog?).

They are calling for the legalization of peer to peer filesharing of all musical material over the net, but with a $5 tax to compensate the artists. I think that is actually a pretty fair idea; the artists get a fair share of the money (better than with the greedy record labels), and people get P2P, what is there not to like?

Unfortunatly, one must question whether canadian music is really worth it at all...
