The RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) have just basically admitted that they are no longer trying to target those who pirate things for personal use.

Christmas Hilaire, a spokesperson for the RCMP, told a French newspaper that ""Piracy for personal use is no longer targeted. Today it is so easy to copy. Everybody was taken by surprise and we do not know how to stop it."

The force have decided that instead of dedicating their limited online resources to dealing with small cases of personal use piracy, they will dedicate themselves to the more serious online cases, such as child pornography, and mass pirates who are actively making profit from their work.

Very different to the rest of Western civilizations view, isn't it? Oh well, they still have the CRIA chasing down Demonoid and trying to find pirates to sue.
