Australia May Block All P2P Traffic
The Australian government is considering a plan to block all P2P traffic in the country as part of a larger Internet filtering scheme.
News.com.au's Andrew Ramadge reports this week that Broadband Minister Stephen Conroy "said technology that could filter data sent directly between computers would be tested as part of the upcoming live filtering trial."
"Although the previous tests and all public statements on the matter focused on web traffic, the actual live tests are expected to include the use of filters that target P2P applications like BitTorrent," writes Ars Technica's John Timmer.
"Large crowds protested against the government's plans in cities all over Australia earlier this month," writes The Inquirer's Egan Orion. "Despite those protests and petitions against its proposals, the government has maintained its plans to go ahead with the blanket censorship…"
"Australians, what do you have to say about this?" asks Gizmodo's Adam Frucci. "Why are you electing jackasses like this that are turning your country into a less productive version of China?"

There are still some dangers in using p2p software, such as adware antivirus software will stop this.

Australians are crazy to allow internet censorship. Censorship is good for dictators and closed governments. Total crap when they use “it’s to save the children”. Peer to peer files will bring down Freemasons and the Illuminati of the few that rule countries through the “New World order. Wake up Australia and smell the coffee!!!
In response to all of this… Australian are NOT wanting this to happen…in a poll it was shown only 4 pct of australia wants the filter. We have numerous websites dedicated to stopping this and it will be done.
It seems the economic and Political elite fears the Internet because they can not controll it like the TV or Radio.
