In yet another blow to the CD industry, the current generation of kids is just...not buying cds, and are prefering to look to digital, and often pirated downloads of music instead. Almost half the population of teens did not buy any cds this year, compared to just 38% last year.

Unfortunatly if this continues CD may well become a dead format within about a decade...this is highly unfortunate, unless some sites start providing lostless recordings of tracks, which are equivilant to CD quality....

At least the upside of things is that 10% of music is bought online, showing that the music industry will have to, despite it's own ideas, embrace digital music. Just whether thats in a good way, is yet to be seen.
